Declarația de valoare pentru Italia – dosar complet

Declaration of Value (Italy)

The declaration of value (Dichiarazione di valore) is the document issued by the Consular Section of the Italian Embassy in Bucharest that describes, in Italian, the value of a Romanian diploma within Romania’s education system. It is not a recognition: it is informative, and the Italian institution decides on recognition. Expert For You prepares the file from start to finish — endorsements, apostilles, translations, appointment and submission — so you don’t lose your appointment because of a missing document.

In brief (according to the Italian Embassy)

  • Consular fee: 260 lei.
  • Appointments exclusively through the Prenot@mi platform; the calendar for the following month opens in the second week of the month.
  • Issuance time: 7–30 days.
  • Incomplete or incorrect files are automatically rejected, without exceptions.

When you need the declaration of value: enrolment in a university, master’s or postgraduate courses in Italy; competitions for public positions in Italy; vocational training courses. Before you start, ask the Italian institution whether it accepts, instead, the CIMEA Attestato di comparabilità, which has partly similar functions and is obtained online.

What the file contains (pre-university diplomas)

  • The original diploma, with the School Inspectorate endorsement and the Prefecture apostille
  • The certificate of authenticity in original, without apostille and untranslated
  • A legalized copy of the diploma, with apostille, plus a photocopy
  • An official Italian translation of the diploma and the apostille, legalized and apostilled, plus a photocopy
  • The completed application form
  • Birth certificate and ID (photocopies); civil status documents if the name has changed
  • A declaration/delegation and a copy of the delegate’s ID
  • A cardboard folder with the applicant’s name

What is added for university diplomas

  • The diploma and the supplement/transcript with the CNRED endorsement and apostille
  • Legalized, apostilled copies and apostilled Italian translations for both documents

What we do

  1. We review your documents for free and tell you exactly which declarations of value you need (sometimes also for the baccalaureate, in addition to the bachelor’s degree).
  2. We obtain the certificates of authenticity (in 2 copies: one for the ISJ/CNRED, one for the consulate).
  3. We apply the ISJ or CNRED endorsement and the apostille at the Prefecture, in any county.
  4. We translate into Italian with translators authorized by the Ministry of Justice, and we legalize and apostille the translations.
  5. We make the Prenot@mi appointment, submit and collect the declaration.
  6. We send you the file by courier, in Romania or in Italy.

If you live in Romania, we need a notarial power of attorney; if you live in Italy, a handwritten delegation is usually enough — we send you the template.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the declaration of value cost?

The consulate fee is 260 lei. To this are added the costs for translations, legalizations, notarial apostilles and our fee, which varies depending on the complexity of the file and the steps needed to obtain the documents.

How long does the whole process take?

The consulate issues it within 7–30 days of submission. Preparing the file (endorsements, apostilles, translations, obtaining missing documents) takes on average 30 business days.

Can I make the appointment on Prenot@mi myself?

Yes, but slots fill up quickly, and an appointment with an incomplete file is cancelled. We only submit verified files.

Do I also need a declaration for the baccalaureate?

Some Italian universities require it. Confirm with the Italian institution; if so, you will have two separate declarations.

For which diplomas is it not issued?

The consulate does not issue declarations for some types of certificates (e.g. high-school graduation without the baccalaureate, post-secondary schools, retraining courses). We tell you from the start whether your diploma is eligible.
